ASSESSING & TRANSFORMING LEARNING PERFORMANCE
Successful outcomes depend on the marriage of sound strategy and good execution. In education and training, a challenging environment of ever-changing government policy, employer demand and learner aspiration, make that blend very hard to achieve.
The Beyond Standards Partnership has a record of high achievement at every level, from strategic advice to government, world-wide, to guidance on institutional organisation and practice at the detailed level.
WHO WE ARE
Our contribution to the UK’s education system was recognised in national honours. We are trusted by governments and by individual clients. Most of our work is repeat business or the result of recommendations by satisfied clients. We operate to the highest standards of ethical correctness and confidentiality.
Our lead partners are David Sherlock CBE and Nicky Perry MBE. Both have a professional lifetime’s experience of teaching and leadership in further and higher education and in quality improvement at the level of both the individual corporation and the national system.
Beyond Standards was established in 2007 by two partners with very extensive experience of further education and work-based learning. Since then, we have worked for the UK government and more than 20 other countries worldwide.
Our clients have included colleges, private learning providers, government agencies and governments themselves. We were professional leaders of the UK’s study of staff professionalism in further education; in the development of the UK’s international development strategy for further education; in evaluating the quality of inspection under a new Chief Inspector; and in presenting the evidence on national recovery in further education after the worldwide financial crash of 2008.
We have assisted in developing the technical education systems of countries as diverse as Bahrain, Cyprus, Indonesia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Thailand. We have advised on both technical matters such as staff observation schemes, and strategic issues such as major corporate mergers in further education.
The Beyond Standards Partnership is a leading source of professional expertise and sound judgement for technical and vocational education.
