Beyond Standards directors have spent decades working with government officials and ministers up to the very highest levels. They have done so not only in the United Kingdom and Ireland but in many other parts of the world where they have offered advice. Globalisation has made the challenges faced by national policy makers remarkably similar everywhere.

Beyond Standards has experience in working with ministries in the following areas:

• education and training
• welfare and employment
• internal security, including policing and prisons
• defence
• overseas aid

We have provided independent quality assessment for welfare-to-work schemes; on-the-job police training; occupational training in custody and during community sentences; military training – as well as more familiar learning situations. In the past year alone we have offered training and advice to improve TVET in Yemen, Jordan, Thailand, north and south Cyprus, Turkey, Serbia and Croatia. In the same period we have led TVET policy and practice workshops for policy makers from countries throughout south-east Europe, the Arab world and south Asia.
