Earlier attempts to launch a National Skills Academy in Social Care failed until a steering group led by a Beyond Standards director successfully achieved approval over a period of 18 months. The new National Skills Academy will influence a workforce of 1.5 million people and 35,000 employers by setting examples of outstanding practice in leadership, training and service tailored to individual needs.
